"If you've never had an odd moment, don't buy this book!
Dr. Paul Gammon, one of the earliest buyers of this book, says it's an excellent "odd moments" book.
Random Thoughts is now available at an introductory price of $11 + tax if applicable, shipping included. Request a copy by email: electricvoodoo.sloan@gmail.com
I am looking forward to dabbing my toe in and out of the water to test the thoughts that meander throughout the pages. There's always the chance it will feel so good that I simply plunge in head first. If I do and it causes brain damage then there is no one to blame but myself. You gave fair warning to take sips rather than guzzle. Congratulations. -Art Gomez |

Thought for the day
The world is filled with clever fools,
creating complications in our lives.

Picasso Influence?
We recently went to a Picasso Exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum. The current work must have been a result of that.
Original Photographic Image
Adobe Photoshop Image
I wasn't thinking Picasso, I was just playing with liquefy in Photoshop to see what I could do with the mesh on the little gazebo, when the image started to emerge; I just went with it. I must have been influenced on an unconscious level which is by far the best way.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR By Cousin Ralph
Some things are inexplicable. How did this goofy guy get lucky enough to marry T.L.L. (The Lovely Lida)? And, how did he manage to write an interesting book that more or less makes sense?
This is a man brain damaged from working over twenty years in the Federal government. His hobbies further eroded his mind. Straining to win chess tournaments he would routinely leave sawdust all over the floor.
In line with his tendency to do things backwards, he became more athletic as he got older. In his late thirties he took up rugby football, which got him whacked in the head a number of times. In his forties, he became a river kayaker and achieved notoriety as the worlds foremost practitioner of the impromptu whitewater swim. His time spent upside down under water gave him new insight into bureaucracy.
He currently works as an abstract digital artist and photographer. It’s the perfect career for him as it does not require you to think straight. In fact, it works better if you go off in all directions and call it creativity.

A few readers comments about "Random Thoughts"
Norris Noose, hanging judge: “One should use caution in recommending clemency for writers. Many of the miscreants should be hanged forthwith for criminal misuse of forest resources. In this case, the author should be spared and the book read.”
Cousin Ralph, literary consultant and photographer’s model: “Not a bad effort for a human. Check out the handsome primate on the back cover.”
Bruce Taylor, author, Mr. Magic Realism and other books: “I have listened to this guy’s quips for years, and we are still friends.”
Roberta Gregory, Graphic Novelist, Follow Your Art and other works: “This fine book is greatly enhanced by the stunning inside illustrations. Modestly speaking, of course.”
Lyle Leduc, photographer: “Wandering mind? You’re lucky to have any mind at all, having worked for the government as long as you did.”
Carole Alexander, Smart cookie: “Carl Sloan indeed does have a wandering mind. He is not only a witty writer, but an accomplished and creative photographer.”
Pippin Sardo, Editor: “This proved a difficult book to edit; I couldn’t stop laughing.”
